Ongoing Activities:


A ___ B___Art Docent (Fall-Spring) Assist with art appreciation and projects in your child’s classroom once a month.

A ___ B ___Game Room Recess (Nov-Mar) Set-up and monitor Game Room during recess.  1.5 hour shifts (Okay to bring preschoolers along).

A ___ B___Library (Fall-Spring) Assist with re-shelving books, laminating and lunchtime coverage.

A ___ B ___Popcorn Days (Fall-Spring) Assist with set-up and supervise sales 1.5 hours per month.

A ___ B ___Box Tops for Education (Fall-Spring) Assist the coordinator by clipping, counting and bundling Box Tops.  1 – 2  hours per month.

A ___ B ___ Gardening (Fall-Spring) Help w/maintenance & upkeep of Gardens.

A ___ B ___Showcase (Fall-Spring) Create, Set-up and/or Assist with window display throughout Ordway school.

A ___ B ___Emergency Preparedness (Fall-Spring) Assist with collection of supplies in classrooms and storage container outside.

A ___ B ___Principal Pals (Fall-Spring) Display chosen student’s weekly work on Principal Pals bulletin board. One month commitment, once a week (Friday or Monday).

A ___ B ___Office Helper (Fall-Spring) Straighten and restock cabinets, etc. Flexible schedule.

A ___ B ___Otter Gear (Fall-Spring) Help with Otter Gear sales and distribution at various times throughout the year.

A ___ B ___Memory Book (Fall-Spring) Take pictures of school events, help create a yearbook.

A ___ B ___Student Artwork Display (Fall-Spring) Assist Ms. Wokna by matting and hanging student artwork around Ordway and the district office.

A ___ B ___Specialist Helpers (Fall-Spring) Assist Music, Art, PE, and Library teachers with special projects, such as holiday decorating and Ordway Gives Back.

A ___ B ___Artsonia (Fall-Winter) Assist Artsonia coordinator with student art postings.

A ___ B ___Spirit Day (Nov-June) Hand out prizes to the winning classroom for wearing school colors. Fridays.

A ___ B ___Web Site (Fall-Spring) Assist in the maintenance of the PTO web site





Annual Activities:


A ___ B ___ Pacific Science Center Van (Sept 23) Assist classes with special science van activities/displays.  FUN, FUN!  2 hour shifts.

A ___ B ___ Jog-a-thon (Sept. 25) ORDWAY’S NEW FALL FUNDRAISER!!!  Assist at school the day of the event. 

A ___ B ___ School Pictures (Sept 28) Assist in organizing students for portraits.  2 hours

A ___ B ___ Health Screening (early Nov) Assist school nurse with vision and hearing tests.

A ___ B ___Sock Hop (Nov 13) Assist w/set-up, decorations, serving light food and clean up.

A ___ B ___Book Fair (Dec 2-5) 2 hour shifts. Assist students w/book selection and sales.

A ___ B ___Staff Holiday Luncheon (Dec 9) Provide salads, soups, desserts & decorations.

A ___ B ___Auction (Feb 27) Adults only offsite dinner and auction.  Procuring, planning, etc. Do what you do best!

A ___ B ___Science Fair (March 18) Provide feedback for students’ science projects.  Assist with set-up, supervision and dismantling displays.

A____B____Science Kits (Oct. 14 & 15) Help to assemble Foss science kits in the fall (2 hour shifts) at the science resource center.

A ___ B ___WASL Snacks  (mid-April) Provide snacks to students during WASL examinations

A ___ B ___Ordway Carnival ( May 7) Fun filled event for the entire family!  Many jobs to choose from.  Sign up now and plan ahead!

A ___ B ___Secretary and Staff Appreciation Day (May 12) Provide lunch items, baked goods, flowers.  Setup/clean up.

A ___ B ___All School BBQ (June 9) Assist w/setup, serving prepared food to students/parents.

A ___ B ___Field Day (June 11) Help setup and supervise outdoor games.  Fun end of year event.


For 4th Grade Families:


A ___ B ___4th Grade Outdoor Ed. Fundraiser Help 4th graders to raise funds to cover the cost of their Outdoor Ed overnight adventure.  More details to follow.
